Have you ever had an idea you couldn't shake?
For years, I've dreamt of an online creative network for the Hudson Valley — a way to harness the vast creative energy of our region by linking the dynamic people, places, and organizations that are already doing amazing work here.
I've had so many reasons not to pursue this idea: marriage and children and a cavalcade of intense day jobs and plenty of other hobbies to enjoy. I've explored riffs on this idea (Hudson Valley Talentbase, Creative Hudson Valley) that were meant to scratch the same itch without the same commitment.
But still, I can't shake the idea.
That's why, after 10 years of tinkering and false starts and orthogonal solutions, I'm so excited to be on the cusp of launching ConnectHV.
It's exactly what it sounds like: an online network for connecting the extraordinary people, places, and organizations that make the Hudson Valley special.
Anyone with a Hudson Valley zip code can create a profile, showcase their work, connect with collaborators, and explore the ever-growing map of awesome things nearby. You can create pages for local places and organizations, search and filter by useful criteria, and explore an ever-growing map of our region.
I'm going to be showing a lot more work in the coming weeks, because I'm so thrilled to have a usable version almost done. In the meantime, I'm looking for beta testers. If you're willing to try out the site when it still has some rough edges, please sign up for the mailing list and I'll reach out when the time comes:
